The UK government has extended the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) until March 31, 2026, giving businesses additional time to secure funding for EV chargepoint installations.
The scheme covers up to 75% of costs (max £350 per socket, up to 40 sockets per applicant). Since its launch in 2016, nearly 60,000 chargepoints have been funded through the WCS (GOV.UK) and with battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounting for one in four new car registrations in February 2025 (SMMT), this extension presents a valuable opportunity for businesses to future-proof their operations.
Why Your Business Should Act Now
Lower Costs – Reduce upfront expenses on EV infrastructure.
Sustainability – Support ESG goals and align with the UK’s EV goals
Employee & Customer Perks – Attract eco-conscious staff and customers.
Future-Proofing – Stay ahead of regulatory and market shifts.
